ReplyDeleteJennifer, my son got to spend the day with his Papaw (which he loved) but I just read him your comment and you made his day! :) Thanks!!
DeleteFrom Johnny-- Duke...so you did the video pantless? Nothing below the waist...really? So you are like a Ken Doll?
ReplyDeleteFrom Alexa- I just read Obsidian yesterday and I have to say I have a pro and con list going on for that one and that is how I wrote my review. There were several great elements and I did love Daemon but it did have Twilight inspired plot lines and people say that Half Blood was like Vampire Acadmey. I have read HalfBlood but I have never read VA so I didn't know about those being the same. My big concern though is that Armentrout might just be taking popular plot lines and putting in her own batch of characters. So I do like/love some of her books but I'm a little conflicted right now lol. Sorry for the long rant. I do want to read her adult romance book though :)
Oh and the post is Clock Rewinders.
Happy reading!
Alexa. I think you read the wrong Obsidian! ;) Not anything like Twilight. lol
DeleteLOL I'm with you Loretta ;) Unless you're one of those people who kinda find Twilight reference in a lot of things I just don't see how you found it in this one at all.
DeleteI'm going to have to read your review when you post it Alexa to see what all you found.
When she goes to meet with all of the alien family he has it is like when Bella went to go meet the Cullens. There were family members that were on her side and there were members that wanted to just string her up as bait.
DeleteThe whole ending scene/battle. Katy (Bella) leaves behind her alien (vampire) protection and decides to drive to where the bad alien (vampire) can meet just her. While Daemon (Edward) must form a plan on how he is going to go save Katy (Bella). The bad alien does something to her arm so she drops the Obsidian, Bella had her arm bit. Daemon (Edward) is the only one who can use healing powers (suck out the venum) to save Katy's (Bella's) life. The only thing that is more advance is that Katy is already becoming more like an alien where it took Bella till the last book to move over to become a vampire.
I promise I don't go looking for this but I am doing the Twilight re-read challenge this year so I re-read Twilight two months ago so it is just so easy to see how Obsidian is like Twilight. Plus Daemon has the on and off moods where he wants her to stay away from his alien family for her safety and their own and yet at the same time he has raw and passionate moments with her because he loves her. (Same as Edward with Bella's life). Plus Daemon can get distracted when he is saving Katy and the same thing happens with Edward. Katy is Daemon's weakness just like Bella is Edward's up until she can protect herself in Breaking Dawn.
All these things is were I have pet peeves.
DeleteThe heroine going off on her own to have to be saved by protective hero from evil villain in climactic ending is a classic scene that has been in books for as long as I can remember and certainly well before Stephenie Meyer ever decided to put it on printed page. (Which is exactly what you just described, just changing out names and paranormal creatures and exact scenes.)
Also, moody Alpha males are in 75% of paranormal books...so I just can't agree with you on that one either ;P And Daemon is nothing like Edward to me (cause damn I just can't stand that dude).
Someone's arm getting hurt does seem like a bit of a reach for me...but ok.
I really do enjoy your vlogs, you guys gave me the giggles, too cute!
