Today I have the pleasure of having the amazing Leah Clifford with me to answer a few of my burning questions.

Can you tell me all the colors that angel eyes change to and what they mean?
 

Red is violence/anger, yellow is fear, blue is happy. Once you know that, you can pick up on other feelings. For instance, hope makes their eyes green (yellow + blue), because it’s a happy fear. Loyalty turns them purple, because it’s a sort of happy anger.

Tell me something about that monkey on Kristen's mantle?

The monkey in the jar on Kristen’s mantle is mentioned in each of the books. His name is Petri and (though spelled different) he’s named after Petrie from The Land Before Time. In that movie, Petrie can’t fly and has a moment where he’s flung from a tree and when he finally hits the ground he asks, “I flied?” and Ducky says, “No, you falled.” Basically, Petri is an inside joke of a Luke reference sitting there on Kristen’s mantle.

What would you put in a smoothie of your choosing?

I’m not so much a smoothie girl, but normally I go with the relative safety of strawberry/banana if I must!

How will you celebrate the release of A Touch Menacing?

I usually try to make release days pretty low key. To celebrate the release of A Touch Menacing, I signed some books at my local indie, bought myself some fancy cupcakes from an amazing bakery next door to it and had dinner with some friends!

What is your weapon of choice if the zombie apocalypse comes?
 

Most of the time in apocalypse situations, it seems like those who survive the longest are the ones who hold back, keep to the shadows and stay quiet. I’d hole up with supplies as much as possible. Once I had to move, I’d go with a long handled knife and a sidearm. I don’t know how to shoot, so I’d want something I can handle (that doesn’t run out of bullets). I actually have a whole zombie apocalypse plan with my friends from all over the country. We know exactly where we’re meeting.

If you were a Sider, whose crew would you join?

GAH! This is such a hard question and no one’s actually asked me it before. Initially, I’d say Eden, but not really in her CREW as much as just living in Manhattan, because Eden is one of the only Siders who doesn’t keep track of everyone in her territory. I think though, that the isolation would bother me eventually. When it got to be too much, I’d head for Kristen’s. Sure, she’s not exactly sane, but either she or her Second, Sebastian, make sure everyone in the household is cared for AND she throws amazing Victorian style balls. What I wouldn’t give to go to one…

If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?
